This is why the Amplidect 295 comes with the option to set the handset to "auto answer", in which case you can answer a call by simply picking the phone up from the charging cradle or the base station.
If the handset is not on the charging cradle, however, you need to press either the green button or the speaker button to answer a call. Pressing the button twice activates the speakerphone.
