How Loud Is the BigTel 48 Amplified Phone?
The BigTel 48 is an ideal telephone for anybody suffering with hearing difficulties thanks to the highly adjustable volume of both the receiver and the ringer. The receiver increases the volume of the callers voice by 40dB and the ringer can be adjusted up to an 90dB, high enough for people who are severely hard of hearing.
What Does the Volume Equaliser Function Do?
This phone includes an equaliser that allows you to boost certain frequencies more than others, which is ideal for people with selective hearing loss.
How Easy Are the Buttons to Use?
The larger button size on the BigTel 48 is ideal for those with visual impairments thanks to the big button design, which means that the numbers will be easier to read, reducing the risk of telephone numbers being incorrectly dialled. This larger size is also suitable for anybody with reduced dexterity as they are easier to manage than smaller, traditional dialling buttons.
How Easy Is the BigTel to Read?
The telephone is fitted with a large and clear dot-matrix display screen, which displays the caller ID for incoming and outgoing calls. This phone also includes a bright LED light which flashes when there is an incoming call, providing a visual aid to make it clearer when the phone is being rung.
Is This Phone Suitable for People with Memory Loss?
The user has the ability to programme three direct-dial numbers of their choosing which are ideal for programming frequently dialled numbers such as family members or carers, and can also be used to programme emergency numbers. This phone also features a redial button that makes it easier to call the same number again.
Is This Phone Hearing Aid Compatible?
This phone is compatible with all specifications of hearing aid, up to and including the M4/T4 (this is the highest specification hearing aid available).
Is This Phone Compatible With Digital Routers?
BT have announced that by 2025, all analogue phone lines will be switched off, meaning landline phones will need to be compatible with digital routers and hubs. In preparation for the changeover, all Amplicomms Telephones are now fully compatible with digital networks. Amplicomms have confirmed that all phones are suitable for a digital network after testing at BT and Talk Talk labs.
