The receiver volume can be increased up to 30dB, which will help to improve the quality of telephone conversations by ensuring that the person on the other end can be clearly heard. This is particularly important when sensitive information or medical advice is being delivered, as it minimises the risk of the information being misheard.

How Loud is the Ringing Volume?

The ringer volume can be adjusted up to a booming 80dB, which will be beneficial for anybody who has difficulty hearing the phone when it rings. How Easy is This Phone to Use?

While this type of phone allows you to roam in the house while you talk, it comes with one potential downside. It requires the user to press the green button to answer a call, which can sometimes be confusing for users who are accustomed to answering the phone by simply picking up the handset.

Yes, the BigTel 1201 works with most popular hearing aids. To use this phone with your hearing aid, simply set the hearing aid to T (telecoil) setting.

The BigTel 1201 Phone has a visual alert for incoming calls, which is ideal for the severely hearing impaired. Moreover, the phone also has visual and audio warning in case of low battery.

Is This Phone Suitable for the Visually Impaired?

The larger button size on the BigTel 1201 is ideal for those with visual impairments. The keypad also features a back-light to illuminate the buttons, making them easier to read, thus reducing the risk of telephone numbers being incorrectly dialled. This larger size is also suitable for anybody with reduced dexterity as the larger buttons are easier to manage than their smaller, traditional counterparts.

The additional handsfree function will also reduce the need to hold onto the phone during use. The telephone is fitted with a large LCD back-lit display screen, and enables dot-matrix text to be read clearly and easily.

Is This Phone Suitable for Those Suffering from Dementia?

The BigTel 1201 is a practical solution for anybody suffering from memory loss. It features a redial button for the last 15 numbers, which reduces the need for the same numbers to be repeatedly entered in succession. The built-in phonebook will also help store up to 100 numbers within the handset for convenient dialling.

Big Tel 1201 additional handsets.

Disappointed over-complicated to set up. Handsets came in English I had to follow the handbook and change into German to set Date and Time, Register each handset. Convert to English and input names and numbers.
four times.
My older Panasonic phone system would automatically upload from the base unit to the handset units, all the names and numbers in the phonebook.

Goods came via Parcel Force, just left a card because we were out 9-30 am.. We had not received a tracking number or expected delivery time. Neighbours were not asked to take the parcel in for us. Asked me to pick up from village post office after 4 -00 pm. Tried all day to telephone the Post office Phone off the hook and being Wednesday not sure if they closed at Lunch.

Big Tel 1201

1201 phone came unregistered and the instruction with it were as clear as mud. Had to contact helpline at extortion rates to get phone registered. Otherwise everything else seems to be ok. Not the easiest phone for elderly people to understand.

The phone was easy to set up except you can not set the time and date in any way but it works well with my Big Tel 480 and is easy to use. The time and date is not needed really

Bigtel 1201

The phone works well, with the boost facility ensuring it can be heard. The registration process with the base station was a bit more complicated as the paper instructions received with the extension handset didn't match this model. However, the guys in tech support sorted us out.

Handset

I like the handset because it has a button to increase the volume. Not all calls require an increase in volume depending on whether they are on a mobile or not. So its great to have an easy option to up the volume when required.
