Amplicomm PowerTel 780 Cordless Amplified Telephone With Answering Machine
The telephone is a vital lifeline taken for granted by those with fully healthy hearing. For the hearing impaired, using the phone is a daunting prospect, with many feeling uncomfortable in conversation and finding it difficult to fully hear the conversation. Because of this, it's vital that the hard of hearing have technology which can keep up with them.
A great cordless phone for hard of hearing individuals, the Amplicomms PowerTel 780 Cordless Amplified Telephone With Answering Machine features a receiver volume 4 to 5 times louder than a standard telephone.
Loud and Clear Conversations With Boosted Volume
A standard telephone receiver volume is approximately 8 to 10dB. However, with the Amplicomms PowerTel 780 Cordless Amplified Telephone, this volume is boosted significantly at 40dB.
Distortion is also kept to a minimum at this level of amplification ensuring you can hear the voice of the caller loud and clear. The brilliantly clear sound levels have a distortion level of less than 1.5 percent, even on maximum amplification.
The ringing volume of the Amplicomms Powertel 780 is also much louder than a standard telephone at 90dB (about the same volume as a pneumatic drill and about 5 times louder than a standard telephone ring). This volume is fully adjustable and can be turned down if required.
Tone Control - Hear "T"s and "S"s Clearly Again
Often, the first element of your hearing that starts to suffer is high frequency hearing. You may notice difficulty distinguishing higher pitched sounds, making words with "T"s and "S"s in particularly difficult to hear.
The Amplicomms PowerTel 780 enables you to control the tone of the receiver, boosting up the higher frequency sounds. Tone control is different from volume control, and provides you with an extra element of assistance to hear loud and clearly again.
Integrated Answering Machine
The Amplicomms PowerTel 780 also features a built in answering machine with 11 minutes of recording time. This has the capability to take a good number of messages. For example, most messages are about 20 to 30 seconds in length, so your answering machine would be able to hold between 20 and 30 messages. To personalise your message to suit your needs, you can record your own greeting on the answering machine.
Flashing Ring Indicator
A flashing ring indicator on the Amplicomms PowerTel 780 also alerts you that a caller is ringing in. The light is a mini strobe that sits at the top of the telephone above the screen and provides a visual indication that a call is coming in.
Hearing Aid Compatible
Simply set your hearing aid to the T position, and when you place the Amplicomms PowerTel 780's receiver to your ear, you will hear the caller's voice directly through your hearing aid rather than the receiver. This is thanks to the handset's built in induction loop.
