Is This Amplified Telephone Suitable for People with Poor Eyesight?
The larger button size on the BigTel 50 Alarm Plus is ideal for those with visual impairments. The big button design means that the numbers will be easier to read, reducing the risk of telephone numbers being incorrectly dialled, while this larger size is also suitable for anybody with reduced dexterity as they are easier to manage than smaller, traditional dialling buttons. The additional hands-free speaker phone will also reduce the need to hold onto the phone during use.
The telephone is fitted with a dot-matrix back-lit display screen, which displays the phone numbers dialled. With the addition of an LED light, which flashes when there is an incoming call, the phone provides a bright alert as an additional visual aid.
Is the BigTel 50 Alarm Plus Good for Emergencies?
The BigTel 50 Alarm Plus is fitted with various features that provide swift and convenient access to emergency dialling. The user has the ability to programme three direct-dial numbers of their choosing, which is ideal for programming emergency numbers and those of family members and carers.
How Does the Emergency Call Unit Work?
The phone also comes with a wireless splash-proof alarm transmitter, which can be worn either around the neck or on the wrist. This features a red alarm, which is connected to the direct-dial numbers. This means that the emergency and direct-dial contacts can be reached in a crisis without needing to be near the phone unit, which can be crucial for anybody prone to falling, and helps to reduce the fear of falling while alone.
